ElevenLabs Multilingual Review: Text to Speech in 29 Languages
Natural voiceover in English, Ukrainian and 27 more languages. We look at how ElevenLabs Multilingual works, what a generation costs and how to write scripts that sound human.

ElevenLabs Multilingual is a text-to-speech model that turns a written script into natural-sounding narration. In this ElevenLabs Multilingual review we cover what the model can do, how much a generation costs, how to use ElevenLabs Multilingual online in WebTerra AI and which projects it suits best. It supports 29 languages, including English and Ukrainian, and lets you choose a male or female voice.
Voiceover is needed more often than people expect: narration for short-form video, a radio-style ad, a phone greeting, a course module, a podcast intro. Traditionally that meant finding a voice actor, booking a session and waiting for revisions. With a TTS model you paste your text, press a button and get an audio file within seconds. If the delivery is off, you adjust the punctuation or wording and generate again.
ElevenLabs is a company known first and foremost for voice technology — speech synthesis, sound effects and music. Multilingual is the general-purpose, many-language model in its line-up, and in WebTerra AI it is positioned as the option with the most natural sound for everyday voiceover work.

What ElevenLabs Multilingual can do
The model has a single job: text to speech. You give it text, it gives you spoken audio. No voice samples to upload, no complicated settings, no editing software required.
- 29 languages. English, Ukrainian and 27 others. One script can be voiced in several languages for different markets.
- Voice choice. Pick a male or a female voice — enough for most commercial and educational tasks.
- Natural intonation. The model reads punctuation and sentence structure: it pauses at full stops, lifts the pitch on questions and reads lists evenly.
- Balanced defaults. The model card lists stability at 0.5 and similarity at 0.75 — a moderate amount of expressiveness without sudden swings, which works well for narration.
- Pay for what you voice. Cost is based on text length, so a short greeting costs less than a long article excerpt.
The main strength of ElevenLabs Multilingual is the combination of sound quality and language coverage. Many speech engines sound fine in English but stumble over stress and pronunciation in other languages. Multilingual was built as a multi-language model from the start, so switching from English to Spanish, German or Ukrainian does not feel like using a bolt-on feature.

ElevenLabs Multilingual pricing
The price depends on how much text you voice. The table shows the cost of a 100-character text on each plan — roughly one or two short sentences, such as a voicemail greeting.
| Plan | Credits | Price in USD |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | 2 | about $0.026 |
| Pro | 2 | about $0.024 |
| Ultra | 2 | about $0.023 |
The 60 free credits you get on sign-up cover roughly 30 such generations, or about 3,000 characters of text. That is a page or so of script — enough to voice a few ads, compare the male and female voices and decide whether the model fits your project. Credit packs and plan details are on the WebTerra AI pricing page.
A practical budgeting tip: voice a short two- or three-sentence sample first to check the voice and pacing, then run the full script. That way you never spend credits on a long text with the wrong settings.
Script examples
For a TTS model the “prompt” is the text that will be read aloud. Below are ready-to-use samples for common jobs. Copy them, swap in your own details and generate.
Narrator voice-over
Every great journey starts with a single step. Today, we will show you how a small coffee shop in the heart of the city became a place where neighbors turn into friends.
A calm opener for a documentary or brand film. Short sentences and full stops give the model natural pauses.
Radio ad
Tired of waiting? Our new delivery service brings fresh groceries to your door in under an hour. Order today — your first delivery is on us!
A short ad with a call to action. The exclamation mark at the end nudges the delivery toward more energy.
Podcast intro
Welcome back to Small Business Talks — the show where real founders share what actually works. I'm glad you're here. Let's get started.
A few seconds of greeting, show name and transition into the episode.
IVR greeting
Thank you for calling customer support. To check the status of your order, press one. To speak with an agent, please stay on the line.
A phone menu or bot greeting. Numbers are spelled out so the model reads them exactly as intended.
Voicemail: after hours
Thanks for your call. Our office is currently closed. We are open Monday to Friday, from nine a.m. to six p.m. Please leave a message and we will call you back.
A message for calls outside business hours. Times are written out in words for clean pronunciation.
Audiobook excerpt
The autumn of that year was unusually warm. The leaves clung to the branches for weeks, and in the evenings a thin mist settled over the river…
A calm fiction reading. The ellipsis at the end produces a longer, reflective pause.
Tips for natural-sounding voiceover
Write for the ear, not the eye
A paragraph that reads well on screen does not always sound good. Long nested clauses, brackets and footnotes are hard to follow by ear. Break complex sentences into shorter ones and turn parenthetical asides into separate sentences.
Use punctuation to control pauses
A comma is a short pause, a full stop a longer one, an ellipsis or dash longer still. If an important word gets swallowed, put a dash before it to give it more weight. A question mark changes the pitch at the end of a phrase, an exclamation mark adds energy.
Spell out numbers, units and abbreviations
Write dates, phone numbers, prices and units the way they should be spoken: “twenty-five percent” instead of “25%”, “dollars” instead of “USD”. Acronyms that are read letter by letter can be separated with dots or hyphens. This prevents surprises in the final audio.
Check stress on tricky words
Brand names, rare terms and foreign words may be stressed differently from what you expect. If that happens, try a phonetic spelling or rephrase the sentence so the word sits in a different position.
One language per clip
The model is multilingual, but the most stable results come when each fragment is written in a single language. For a bilingual video, generate two separate tracks and combine them in your editor.
Voice long scripts in chunks
Split a long script into paragraphs and voice them one by one. If one piece comes out wrong you redo only that piece, not the whole text — and separate files are easier to place on an editing timeline.

Comparison with other audio models
WebTerra AI offers several models for sound and voice. Here is how ElevenLabs Multilingual relates to the closest ones.
| Model | Purpose | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| ElevenLabs Multilingual | Voiceover, 29 languages | All-round choice for narration, ads and IVR |
| ElevenLabs v3 | The most lifelike voice | When maximum expressiveness and emotion matter |
| ElevenLabs Turbo | Budget voiceover | Large volumes of text at the lowest price |
| ElevenLabs SFX | Sound effects | You need effects and ambience, not speech |
| MiniMax Music 2.6 | Songs with vocals | You need a song or music, not a read script |
If your project needs the most emotional delivery possible, read our ElevenLabs v3 review. If you have a lot of text and a tight budget, look at ElevenLabs Turbo. Multilingual sits between the two: natural sound, wide language support and an affordable price.
A finished video usually needs more than a voice. Add ambience and effects with ElevenLabs SFX, and a music bed or jingle with MiniMax Music 2.6 — so all the audio for a project can come from one dashboard.
Limitations and what to know
- Text input only. The model does not clone your voice from a sample and does not voice a video automatically — it reads the text you provide in the selected voice.
- Basic voice selection. You choose between a male and a female voice. For a very specific character or style, look at other models in the service.
- Cost grows with length. The listed price is for 100 characters; a long script costs proportionally more.
- Names and jargon. Rare words occasionally get unexpected stress — listen to the result and rewrite the fragment if needed.
- Responsible use. Do not use synthetic speech to impersonate a real person, and disclose AI voice where platform rules require it.
